WebGratuity calculation depends on two major factors that are last drawn salary and number of years provided by an employee as service. As per the Payment of Gratuity Act 1972, Gratuity should not exceed an amount of 20 Lakhs and the act has categorized non-government employees into two categories; Employees covered under the act WebGratuity is money paid by an employer to an employee when he/she resigns or retires from the organization. It should be noted that this lump sum is not deducted from the employee’s salary during their active employment. Gratuity payment (sometimes known as Service Pay Scheme) has been established under the Employment Act (cap 226, Laws of Kenya).
